Fearless Females: March 12

The Accidental Genealogist is running her annual “Fearless Females” month of March. I’m so happy to be joining in, although admittedly a little late. I will attempt to catch up before the end of the month. If you want to see her blog and prompts you can look here: http://www.theaccidentalgenealogist.com/2015/02/back-for-sixth-year-fearless-females.html

The prompt for March 12:

“Working girl: Did your mother or grandmother work outside the home? What did she do? Describe her occupation.”

As far as I know none of my female relatives really worked outside the home. My grandmothers both started out with jobs but didn’t work after they got married. My mom worked as a nurse but scaled back considerably once she had kids. As far as I know she only worked a couple 12 hour shifts a month, usually on weekends.
